Understanding how you’ll now earn points
As a result of awarding points in more places, and the increasing cost of rewards, we’ve had to make some changes to the Membership Rewards program. Your earn structure will change on 1 October 2012 from 1.5 Membership Rewards points per $1 spent to the new points earning structure as outlined below.
Your new points earn structure
|You'll Now Earn...||At...1||When You Spend...|
|1 point||Everywhere else, excluding the providers below||$1|
To search for businesses, restaurants and major cruise and tour operators where additional points can be earned, visit amexforbusiness.com.au/bonus
And because you can earn points faster, we’ve changed your earn rate threshold from $250,000 to a threshold of 375,000 points per membership year, after which your earn rate will revert to 1 point per $1 spent (except at merchants where you earn 0.5 points per $1 spent). Points earned on spend in your current year of membership will go towards your 375,000 points threshold.
Rest assured, you will continue to earn points on all eligible spend and your points never expire2.
